
In 2003. construction started on a 17000+sq. ft. building that would house the Canadian Museum of Hindu Civilization- a site dedicated to World Peace. The building was completed in early 2004 at a cost $5,000,000.
The building is a part of a larger complex that is also home to the Vishnu Mandir temple established in 1984 located just north of the intersection of Highway 7 and Yonge Street. The museum is a three storey building with a central atrium, and a reception and cloakroom on the first floor.
The museum gift shop is located on the second floor and carries a unique selection of ornaments, CD-ROMs, Music CDs, books, casual wear and more.
